The series includes the best doctoral theses from the University of Bergamo, starting from Cycle XXXIX, which have been awarded the distinction of publication. The theses are also subject to a blind peer review process.
The texts – written in Italian as well as in the main languages of international scientific communication – essentially cover the subject areas corresponding to the School of Advanced Doctoral Studies, with particular reference to Areas 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 of the MIUR classification.
The volumes have consistent graphic and editorial uniformity and a unique monographic characterization. Where necessary, the texts are accompanied by graphs, tables, iconographic and textual apparatus, as well as annotated bibliographies and analytical indexes, based on a series format that is both unified and flexible, i.e., capable of responding to the state of the art in the various disciplines of reference.
Far from being mere “reproductions” of the texts submitted by candidates for the necessary doctoral approval and evaluation procedures, the volumes in the series offer an “enhanced” version, as research products in every respect, with an ISBN code and DOI identifier.
Significant to this evolution is the action of the School Council together with the Series Director and, where applicable, the involvement of the tutor.
The Series is based at the Editorial Services office of the University of Bergamo, via dei Caniana, 2 – 24127, Bergamo (Italy).
Coordinator: prof. Paolo Cesaretti.
