Access requirement

Possession, by Oct. 31, 2023, of a bachelor's degree obtained in accordance with the regulations in force prior to the entry into force of Ministerial Decree 509/1999, specialist degree (Ministerial Decree 509/1999), master's degree (Ministerial Decree 270/2004).
In the case of a degree obtained abroad, the evaluation of the requirement will be carried out by the selection committee.

Additional access requirements:
- A Master's degree or other fit international qualification. The final dissertation mark should be at least 105/110. For students who will be achieving the qualification required for admission after the deadline of the call, the average exams mark should be at least 105/110;
- a language certification (CEFR, at least B2 level or above) in English, French, Spanish or German not older than five years at the date of publication of the call. In alternative, the candidate must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in the classes (Italian Ministerial field of study codes) L-11 or L-12 or a Master’s Degree in the classes (Italian Ministerial field of study codes) LM-37 or LM-38;
- candidates with a qualification obtained abroad must submit a certified translation of the degree certificate with the correspondence of the degree mark in one-hundred cents;
- candidates with a qualification obtained abroad and who are not Italian mother tongue must submit a certification of knowledge of the Italian language (CEFR, B2 level or above; for instance CELI3).

Selection

Type of estimable qualifications:
Qualification assessments (up to 60 marks):

  • curriculum studiorum: up to 15 marks;
  • research project: up to 25 marks (the project may also be submitted in Italian, English or French);
  • grade of master's degree or equivalent qualification: up to 10 marks;
  • other qualifications: e.g. specialisation courses, post-graduate courses, etc.; attendance to research projects, contract ownerships, scholarships, assignments in national or international research bodies, duly certificated, showing the activity's effective date and duration: up to 5 marks;
  • scientific publications (endowed with ISBN or ISSN): up to 5 marks (only publications not older than five years at the date of publication of the call and relevant to the topics of the doctoral program will be evaluated).

Interview (up to 30 marks):

  • knowledge of at least one European foreign language (English, French, Spanish, German); in the case of candidates who are not Italian mother tongue also the knowledge of Italian language will be tested: up to 5 marks;
  • discussion of the research project (assessment of the candidate's capacity to convincingly discuss project preconditions and goals): up to 15 marks;
  • relevance of demonstrated knowledge in the field of curricular subjects forming doctorate objectives: up to 10 marks.

Linguistic competence:
During the interview, candidates must demonstrate their knowledge of one European foreign language (English, French, Spanish, German); candidates who are not Italian mother tongue will be required to also demonstrate the knowledge of Italian language.

Interview date:
June, 26th 2023 at 09:00 AM (Italy time) eventually continuing on June, 27th 2023 at 09:00 AM (Italy time) depending on the number of candidates participating in the interview. The interview will be carried out in person and in Italian. The interview may take place in videoconference only in the case of candidates residing abroad.
